BREAKING NEWS!CPAN Files Lawsuit Over HB25-1312 toDefend Free Speech
The Colorado Parent Advocacy Network (CPAN), in partnership with Defending Education, Protect Kids Colorado, Do No Harm, and Dr. Travis Morrell, has officially filed a lawsuit against the State of Colorado. We are challenging a dangerous section of HB25-1312—a new law signed by Democrat Governor Polis, that violates the First Amendment by making free speech illegal in places of public accommodation.
HB25-1312 goes far beyond protecting against discrimination. It forces Coloradans to use government-approved language about gender identity in public places—compelling individuals and organizations to use "chosen names" and pronouns, even when this contradicts their deeply held beliefs. This isn’t just a matter of respect—it's a direct assault on free speech.
Why This Matters: Forced Speech: Colorado now mandates that businesses, organizations, and public places must use a person’s “chosen name” and preferred pronouns, regardless of their personal or religious beliefs. Punishment for Dissent: Those who speak consistently with biological reality could face severe penalties for “discrimination.” No Room for Truth: Colorado’s law attempts to silence anyone who refuses to endorse the state’s view on sex and gender, labeling their speech as discriminatory.

We are not alone in this fight. Our partners, Defending Education, Protect Kids Colorado, Do No Harm, and Dr. Travis Morrell, stand with us to defend the fundamental right to free speech for every Coloradan. We will not allow the government to compel citizens to endorse an ideology they do not believe.
